Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Officers report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be resolved quickly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
